Neil Davidson has over 20 years of experience in PR and public affairs having held senior roles in a number of public and private sector organisations. Since 2012 he has worked with a number of leading firms including wave energy company Aquamarine Power, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Buccleuch, Green Highland Renewables and FloWave Ocean Energy Research Facilty to help them maximise their media profile and shape policy in Scotland, the UK, Ireland and Brussels.
Previously, Neil managed Scottish PR and Public Affairs at BT Global Services for five years and held senior PR and public affairs roles at The Crown Estate and Scottish Natural Heritage.
He also acted as PR advisor to the Woodland Trust, was chairman of the charity Venture Scotland for over two years and spent a further two years in Chilean Patagonia as Country Director for youth development charity Raleigh International.
Neil trained in print journalism with DC Thomson and Co Ltd prior to freelancing with the BBC, The Scotsman and The Herald among others.
Neil holds an honours degree in Land Economy from Aberdeen University and is a member of the Association for Scottish Public Affairs.
He lives in Edinburgh with wife Alice Nelson, who is a documentary film maker. They have an eight year old daughter, Eilidh, and a wee boy, Peadar, who is four.
In his increasingly limited spare time, Neil enjoys being with his family, food and drink with friends, cinema, running off-road, and cycling on it.
